Favorite badass black C3?
:jester
Just kidding. David, we're not going to agree on this because I'm one of those guys who likes C3s just the way they are and, from a quick look at your website, you're one of those guys who likes elaborate body mods. I'm sure we both enjoy our respective cars just as much. It's just a matter of individual taste.

No really, I am just happy that the car is actually in once piece again. It is interesting that the others here were posted along side of my 69 (AKA Killer) as they have all been a big part in the planning and execution of my project.
These other cars have served as inspiration for me along the way. Steve and I communicated often during the early planning phase of my car. In fact, I have been in contact with everybody there at one time or another seeking fresh ideas, or sharing some of my experience and technical blunders.
I am glad you guys enjoy the car.
Sorry, I don't have any larger picture of the car. I took those photos in the "standard" mode on my camera so they don't blow up much better. Vette magazine did a shoot on the car over the labor day weekend. It will be interesting to see how those pictures come out when they hit the magazine (date unknown). Rob at the Corvette Action Center created a awesome desk top calendar for October using a shot of the back of the car. You can really see the back tires in that shot and get a feel for just how much more meat the flares let you put on the ground. The resolution of that photo is good enough to blow it up large with no problems. Of course, I have made that my desk top calendar and it fits great on my 19" screen.
You can grab a link to that in his download section.
Thanks again!
Bob and his son Rob work as a team covering the country doing Vette related stuff. How cool is that?
I created the roll bars using a simple paint program on my computer over pics of the car when I had first put the rear clip together. I took my idea to Jimmy Britts at http://www.jimmybritts.com . I traded the bowtie heads I had laying around for the work. He does GREAT work, and fast. The bars are not NHRA or SCCA legal, but they at least provide support for the seat belts, and some extra degree of saftey in a roll over (plus they look cool). They are powder coated silver with a powder coated clear coat on top.
I have done more mods on the car than you can see just looking at it.
The best part is, I can say with great pride that my wife and I did 98% of the work ourselfs. The only things we did not do is the top install, seat cover install, physical spraying of the top coat of paint, the bending of the roll bars, and the alignment work.

Can't wait for the article.
You probably remember when I emailed you my first concepts for my roll bar, then you shot back telling me how you were building the same kind of thing (but much more substantial than mine). It is like we had the same vision at the same time.
Here is the really wild part. We fired our engines for the first time within DAYS of each other. I feel like the cars are kindred spirits somewhere along the way. Yours is the ultimate modern ego machine, and mine is the more classic (chrome) cruiser.
Some day my friend, we will have the opportunity to park them side by side. Can't wait to thunder the windows out of the other cars as we roar passed the crowd. It will happen, I am sure of it!
The ULTIMATE would be to put together a "wicked black shark" display whenever we do get to meet up. All of the super hot black Sharks in one spot! Schweeeeeeeet!
Chris - That would be amazing to have all our killer black Vettes together roaring down the street. They have a black Vette squadron out here on the left coast. I'm planning on driving this thing out your way for the Cruise In, so if you can make it there, it would be great to get some Video of the black beasts together!
