I'm not saying it's remotely cost effective, but it certainly seems like the Holley "Power Charger" air cleaner system could provide some much-needed hood clearance to enable higher-rise intakes on C3 Corvettes.
It kinda looks funny and cold air is a non-starter, but it might be a useful solution for someone who's got an intake-airflow-limited engine.

Algebra was never my strong point, (pies are square stuff) but I bet a 14" dia X 3" tall filter has more surface area than that radical looking thing. And I suspect the hood will still hit but just in a different area. Certainly would not introduce more cool air being the elements are closer to the headers / exh manifolds. Something different though.
well what about Spectre Performance Air Intake Plenum 98499?It is only one of many that Spectre make. Check Summit for the pics and prices!
Although I have drop base and works quite nice and it is cheaper than any other options.
I'm doing well with a 14x3" drop base from Summit on an Air Gap with a Quick Fuel HR780VS. Choke and all, still have 1/2" to spare at the front of the cleaner lid. So maybe it depends on which hood you have? I'm eventually going to cut out a template for a cold air snorkel that I will attach underneath the hood to drop down over the air cleaner assembly. It will draw air from over the radiator support on the driver's side. Just a few more priorities ahead of it though.
I have a Quick Fuel HR-680-vs with choke on a Airgap Rpm . Using a Edlebrock elite 2 series type cleaner ( flat fluted top ) with a 3 inch filter , no clearance problems . I also have a 2 inch filter but if i put that on The top of the air cleaner closes the choke . Was wondering how close can the top of the carb be to the bottom of the air cleaner cap , can it get to close and restrict the air flow .
