The answer is no. The L82's had 4-bolt mains, and the L48's had 2-bolts. (But sometimes the opposite occurred if there was a parts shortage at the factory...)

The L-82's came with a 4 bolt main, L-48's did not. If your fifth digit in the VIN is an L, you have L-48 (185 hp). Fifth digit a 4, you have an L-82 (220 hp).
Thankyou for your quick responses. I don't think I will ever sell my 61. It is a blast to drive. It was my first Corvette and I had to wait till I was 50 to get it. 2 years ago. :D
I am assuming that you have been lurking around in the C1 section ( and with a Vette like yours, I would be too), but you will find that the C3 section is a blast and everybody over here are very helpful with advice.
