would it be possible and feasable to get a carb fed vette and upgrade it to a fuel injection system? If so would I be able to buy the FI system from any chevy 350?

Absolutely do-able. In fact, I have seen conversion projects of this nature in Corvette Fever or Vette. I can't remember which. I have seen two types of conversion: one in which you take the TPI setup from a later model Corvette and then get a custom made electrical harness by a reputable company. The other is a throttle body conversion that I think Holley makes for a straight bolt-on operation. Remove your carb, bolt the Holley unit on, wire the thing up and (I think???) add an electric fuel pump. The conversions to the TPI look the best, whatever that is worth but they are a lot more money. Go to Holley's web site and I bet they have some photos of the throttle body setup. Somebody named "something" Marine makes a TPI setup that allows you to put the late model Corvette TPI arranagement on your car. Maybe Phoenix Marine or Arizona. Oop, just found it doing a search - Arizona Speed and Marine. I think they have been featured doing the wiring harness changes necessary for this conversion. Here is there link: http://www.azspeed-marine.com/fuelinjection-0.html
Re: Question about Fuel injection for C3 vettes (akebhart)
yep you can do it,theres also alot of aftermarket fuel injection systems out there too.unless you want to stay with factory then you have tune port injection, and throtte body injection too.
Re: Question about Fuel injection for C3 vettes (akebhart)
DPFI is about the most desirable single mod you can do to your engine, it not improves driveability, but fuel economy will damn nearly double....
well worthwhile project, especially for a street driver...
you can get junkyard connectors and wire from old harnesses from any GM car, and do your own TPI conversion....1227730 is a good computer to use, run it with a aftermarket cal pak....
see sig file, I did it....
Re: Question about Fuel injection for C3 vettes (akebhart)
I have a Holley Projection TBI system on mine. I did the conversion about 7 years ago. On a stock engine, this is not a bad system, improved cold cranking, drivability, and economy. Would definately do it again.
Re: Question about Fuel injection for C3 vettes (akebhart)
price is all depending on which way you go,special machining -probably not on most systems, ill have about $800 in my tpi setup, with custom chip and odds and ends.
