Hi all! Could you please recommend me a puller for the PS pulley? Thank you!

This is the exact one I have;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pulley-Pulle...38.m2548.l4275
Just used it twice and it works good. I got it from harbor freight for $20.
the pulley does not come off easily. Took some heating with a propane torch and then used a 1/2 drive impact wrench to turn the bolt to pull it off. Went hard the entire way.
Putting it back on similar process. Heat the pulley so it expands a bit, oil the shaft to prevent galling start the pulley by hand then use the puller/installer with 1/2" impact. goes on hard the whole way.
PS: it is Chinese made so hard to peak to the quality of the threads on the puller. I greased mine to keep the threads from galling. Antiseize would probably work too.

For anyone in the US who stumbles across this thread: you can usually rent a power steering pulley puller @ a local auto parts store for free (credit card deposit required); as long as you return it within the 48 hours or so that they give you, it's literally free.

More important than removing the pulley is to use a pulley installer so not to internally damage the pump. I see you are in Italy, maybe try ebay.de ? Or if Italy has a ebay

due to the poor quality of many rebuilt pumps at the local parts houses, you would be money ahead buying the HF one, as you may end up going through multiple pumps before you get a good one.
or buy from a reputable vendor on this site, or learn to rebuild yourself.
I have the HF one for over a decade and have used it on many vehicles with no issues. some vehicles more than once, hence the note about pump quality...

This was the reason I had to use mine twice recently instead of just once.

I just wrecked my pulley....used the harbor freight puller...It is still in tack, but cranked so hard trying to get the pulley to rlease, that the "lip" on the pulley actually bent...
Pulley is still on, LOL!

Using a regular gear puller on the lip of the pulley is certainly not the way to go. There is a special tool made for removing the gm power steering pump pulley. Somewhere in the garage I have one that is made by SK. I'm sure Snap On and others make one too. It pulls the pulley off by grabbing the small ring near the front center and pushing against the center shaft.

How do you get this kind off?

This is the one I have:
I got mine from NAPA but a lot of places carry them.
Lisle also makes a good one.
You really need to use one to remove and reinstall the GM press fit pulley.
A three jaw puller will probably destroy the pulley trying to make it work getting the pulley off. Then you'll need to go buy the tool and a new pulley.

From what I can tell, it is original to the car.
I already got the nut off, but the pulley is still on there pretty good. Am I over thinking this?
Should I just use penetrating oil, maybe heat it up, and try to bang it off using some jimmy rigged jig?
This seems like a recipe to destroy the pulley for sure.

Looks like a 3 jaw puller will work on that pulley. Seems like there is enough to grab on the back. Auto parts store loaner. If it does pop off, try something like a small exhaust pipe clamp around the jaws to keep me from spreading.
