What size hole for the oil filler tube? And are you sure?
Does the filler tube hole go exactly 90 degrees perpendicular to the undrilled boss on the manifold?
What gasket set (Felpro) do I want to use to mount it to a small block with stock heads and a Quadrajet?
And lastly, what gasket(s) on the carb side? The 3 piece kit like this:
I understand that there are hood interference problems with a taller intake, but just so you know, you're leaving 30 to 40 hp on the table by not using a Weiand 8150 or Edelbrock 7101.
The 2101 is known to fit under the stock hoods is why the 2101.
I don't like the looks of the L88 hood on my car.

I've never seen anything like this before or even heard of it. You drilled a hole through your intake/front distributor hole? to use as an oil filler tube??
Is this because you're using a vacuum pump for crank case evacuation and it makes getting a good seal easier or something?

Huh? The distributor hole is at the back of the intake and not in play here at all. The '68s came with a oil filler tube at the front of the intake manifold. I believe all 55-68 SBCs did in fact. The filler was not on a valve cover till 1969. (PCV was though in '68)
(see pic of someone else's '68 here) The Edelbrock 2101 does not have the hole there for the oil filler pipe, but it does have a ready to drill boss/extrusion where the pipe goes. That way it can be used on early and later SBC's - if you have an older car and want it too look right you drill the boss and stick the tube in there where it belongs. That's normal SOP, not unusual in the least.
