Killed my alternator: Hot wire spun inside... what now?
I had just finished fully installing my headlight relay harness and wiring my Dapper 575 low-beams (traditional halogen) and was trying to unscrew the alternator's "hot" nut to install the final wire for the wiring harness when I realized that the nut wasn't unscrewing; the entire hot post of the alternator was unscrewing inside the alternator...
I didn't realize until I spun it around probably 4 times -now the GEN light is permanently on.
I'm upgrading to a 120 or 140 amp alternator anyway, but there were a couple people on here who wanted the original #'s matching alternator off of me when I was done with it....
What's an original 60 amp alternator worth and what would it cost to fix it / get it fixed? Is it worth it?

Push the springs and the brushes into the holder and from the outside of the alternator slide a tooth pick or paper clip through the hole in the brush holder.
Put the alternator back together and then remove the tooth pick.
Take note of the curves on the end of the brushes.
