C3 Transmission
I have a 1982 CE with 55,000 miles. I have had it for three years and put about 1800 miles on it so it sits a lot. One day the transmission shifted hard. Last week I took it out for a drive and now it won't shift out of first. From doing some research I have found that it doesn't have a vacuum modulator. I have read that the TV cable could be out of adjustmentment. Any ideals or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My first guess would be a Governor issue. the plastic driven gear is probably chewed up.. . but it could be other things.. The TV cable adjustment controls pressure to determine how stiff your shifts are, .. I doubt its your problem .. But I am not a trans specialist
