Default Engine Break In Question

I have a question about engine break-in with my serpentine system installed. My vintage air system says I souldn't run my Sanden (sp) a/c compressor without the A/C charged. So my question is, can I use a Sanden compressor that spins but is not in operational condition in the break-in of the engine until I am ready with my good Sanden and system for a charge? If yes, anybody know where I can buy a break-in donor? Appreciate any help you can provide.

The Compressor has a Clutch on it. There should be a wire going to the Clutch. Disconnect the wire and the Clutch can not engage. So the Belt and Pulley will be turning but not the Compressor.

For that matter, if you're worried about it that much, you can just remove the a/c belt.

Need the serpentine to run the water pump. Only one belt. Cannot disconnect.

Another option is an A/C delete pulley.

No power to the a/c compressor clutch, the compressor is not going to turn. Unless the clutch is fubar.. But that's a different deal anyway. Throw the belt on and light it off.

Our vintage air instructions said it was fine to run the compressor with no charge as long as the wire was not hooked up.

Okay, thanks guys. I'll proceed with the break-in plans. Thank you all.
