1968 Big Block Oil Pickup/Screen needed
Does anyone have a source/vendor for the correct Oil Pump Pickup/Screen for the C3 Big Block? the Tube is 0.750 OD and it needs to work with the GM Corvette 6/5 Quart Pan (8" depth, Windage Tray, Trap Door).
My Engine was a CE 427/435HP (4 Bolt, etc.) that I'm currently putting back together as a 460 (AFR Heads etc.), during the clay clearance check I measured over a 1/2" (0.650"ish) without the Gasket (seems excessive).
I'm guessing that when the CE was put in the GM Tech or a previous owner used the 5/4 Quart Pan Pickup (the original pump says GM on it).
I did verify the Inlet height is the same on the old Pump and new Pump, am I missing something here?

You could try Summit. They are pretty good about refining a search for a big block screen. More than likely Milodon or Mellings would have one on their site that will match your pan depth.
Yes, a half inch is too far away from the pan. You need 1/4" - 3/8". Wouldn't hurt to add one of those pickup brackets that bolt to the pump housing to keep things secure. Just add a drop of LocTite blue on all the threads.
