Gas Additive Question
Last fall I filled the tank on my 1980 with 91 non-ethanol gasoline. This year has been so busy I was able ( so far ) just putting 50 miles on the car. My question is, is there anything I can put in the gasoline for the winter that will keep it fresh? Thank you! Don

i would not leave it in for another winter. Just syphon most of it out and put it in your daily driver. Put fresh gas and Sta-Bil Marine back in and go drive it a while. Then do what ever you do for winter storage.
I use a 3/8" clear plastic tube that is about 8 ft long to syphon with. You can see the gas flowing so you don't get it your mouth. I let the gas get down to the ground and then put the end in my gas can. It will run up hill into the can. Its takes a few minutes to get 5 gallons but you will not taste gas all day.

I second that, get the old gas out and fill with fresh. Better yet make a short trip to Letchworth Park to see some color and have lunch at the Inn. Then return via Hammondsport and stop at a winery for dinner. That way you only need to get a gallon or so out of the tank before putting in new gas!

My car ( also my boat, lawn motor ,wood splitter, generator ) sits from Oct to April for the last 23 years at as much as 40 below zero. There's never been any gas in it with ethanol I use 91 . All i do is make sure when i put it away it has a full tank and in the spring when i get ready to start it i add a bottle of heat . Have never had a problem with any of them starting once the batteries are charged. Now if the gas has even 10 pct ethanol I would't let it sit over a couple months. Other then my truck none of these have ever had ethanol i them . I also sell gas at my store both my 87 and my 91 are no ethanol .

Not sure if this is a bad idea or not, but never had an issue. This year has been the exception, but since I've owned my car I've put on 2k miles in 12 years. Got frustrated, gave up working on it for 10 years...now back at it.
Any event, I had several years where I drove maybe a tank a year or less. I always put sta-bil in the tank when filling up. Never had an issue. Maybe it's because I own a boat and my previous boat (small nitro bass boat) had a massive gas tank in it for some reason and took forever to use it all if I filled it. The first year I had it, I didn't know what I was doing and didn't put sta-bil in the tank before winter... well I had the hardest time starting that sucker with the old gas in spring. Took forever to get it back running right again.

Sta bil marine additive for fuel worked great in my boats. What can really help with the carb is to put a fuel shut off valve in line before the fuel pump. You can turn the fuel off and run all the fuel from the carb before you store it for the winter.
To syphon fuel from my tank, I purchased a fuel bulb that is used to prime the old model Mercury Marine outboard motors on boats. I added about three feet of 3/8" fuel line to each end. Place one end in the tank and the other end into a gas can, pump the bulb a few times and the fuel flows. You can get the bulbs at almost any marine shop that sells outboards. I've seen them at some Napa auto stores as well. They last for years. I learned years ago not to ever syphon gas sucking on a hose.
