My mechanic may still have a great one for sale in the $2500 cdn range. He is just outside of Bolton Ont.

I just got off the phone with my local chevy dealership parts department and after giving them that part number they said that it is discontinued and not available anymore. Yet another frame venture that didn't pan out for one reason or another.
Dalannex,

My Dad said that the number didn't show when he first looked it up the "normal" way either. He did a little more digging and found that it can be had through a place called "GM Order Processing". He also found a phone number: (248) 352-0140. Don't call it yourself though, you will need a dealer code to order the frame. Have your local dealer call and see what they can do.

Good Luck.

How does someone get a hold of your mechanic? Photos available? History of frame?

I would press your GM dealer on that response. Some parts fellows can be lazy at times re discontinued numbers. There are often superseding numbers. I will check for you on Monday.

Not sure where Paragon gets their frames from, but I highly recommend them. They're about 1/2 hour away from me and they're great folks up there.

I wish to confirm what you have stated. I queried the GM Canada parts system today. There are no GM C3 frames in Canada. Nor do I believe in the USA; from GM. All trails led to the 248 number in Michigan that you stated. They are also at 1-888-285-2691. Or at this web site...
http://www.gm-resto.com

But do not bother trying: you need a GM dealer access code to get through.

I can confirm that the #12300910 frame is available for about $3160.00US (dealer cost). And my impression is that the frames are produced under licence. That is, the company is not corporate GM but has some form of outsourcing arrangement. Can you get the frame in Canada? They seemed willing to ship to the dealership where I work. I could not get a good handle on shipping costs today but the ballpark estimate was $350 to $500US. They have to check with an independent transport firm.

So there you are! It is doable by a GM dealer in Canada. But when all is said and done with a modest dealer markup plus PST and GST you are looking at between $6,000 to $8,000CDN. For just a frame....
