1969 transistor ignition help
I am currently working to get a 69 back on the road. The car was originally equipped with a 350 with a transistor ignition. The original engine was missing when I purchased the car, so I installed a 427. My question is can I replace or modify my ignition wire harness and go with a standard 1969 427 distributor and eliminate the transistor ignition? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Clayton

what does the wire connecting to the positive terminal of the ignition coil look like, is it two wires connecting to a common connector?
If it is use a voltmeter to determine the voltage with the key on and when cranking. Key on should give a lower reading than when cranking.

The TI system uses a resistance wire just like the conventional points ignition does, along with power from the starter when the key is in the start position. You just need to figure out which wire it is and feed the coil from that.

I'm still running the original amp. I did drop an MSD distributor in. The lower bushing in my original looked like a football.
(I think the OP may not have gotten the dizzy)

When TI ignition was added to a car from the factory the pink wire was removed from the ignition switch connector and the TI harness was plugged into this open space. So switching it back shouldn't be any issue.
My 70 LT-1 and for some bone headed reason I pulled it off the car... (I don't remember why, but I think the box tanked on me and so I had a standard distributor laying around. I still have all the original parts and this was before the solid state boards were available to fix it).
Below is the page from the AIM describing the change made when the cars were going down the line. Reverse this and you should be good to go.

I replaced all the harnesses in my 69- the Pink wire Mr. Willcox is speaking of is a 2 way pigtail in 69. One plugs into the switch, one of the tails runs the original harness and the other feeds the TI.
