Tilt-telescoping steering column date code

I have a question on a steering column that I have listed for sale on the forum. I was asked what is the date code on it, I was not aware of a date code but there is one stamped on the bottom. Now my question is what year is the column? I was told it was a 1975 but with the date code I don't think so. The stamp is 100 space 8 that transfers to April 9, 1968 or April 9, 1978 how can I tell which it is?
Any help would be appreciated.

68 doesn't have an ignition switch in the column.

I'ts 72 to 75, maybe 76. Originally the columns had a sticker towards the bottom that would give you the date/year it was far. Most of these stickers are long gone.
