This one fit my 79 SBC with AC. Belts line up perfect. Only issue I had was grinding the lower part of the ajustment arm. Took off 1/4" or so. It was really close to the upper control arm. Price is alittle too high IMO.
I had to buy a longer belt too. Maybe a 1" or 2.

I sure like the looks of that billet one but I would question if it lines up with the crank pulley & W.P. pulley. It looks farther back than stock location.
I can tell you that most of $14.95 chrome-universal ones will not fit. The length is ok but the arc or radius is all wrong and will not clear the top of the Alt.
I too have tall valvecovers with the stock Alt bracket. I am at the end of the slot as far as belt tension / adjustment. Tried a shorter belt and the Alt hits the valvecover.

Could you post a picture? I'm experiencing this issue right now myself.
Red area is what I removed. I could almost fit my finger between top of arm and bottom of uncut bracket. I grinded a little over 1/4 off and it was still close but nothing touched after driving several trips over less than perfect roads
