I currently have dash out of my 79. what is the little printed circuit board pictured here? (boittom left pic 1) it has a bulb on the other side. If this has nothing to do with the tach, which isn't even in the same location as the tach, then there was not a tach board in my speedo/tach gauges. picture 2.
There was nothing attached to speedo/tach cluster where the 3 connectors are located. (pic2)
How was the tach even working???????
That circuit board is for the low fuel light. Your tach plugs in from the front side and the studs protrude through the printed circuit in the 2nd pic.
Mine is in the center console. At one point I was looking to replace it ...not working. But I found out then nobody makes them. Could be different now. But at that time Willcox could fix them I believe. Or he had a limited amount of used ones. I forget now......Stinks getting old.
I am reviving my post to answer one final question. I have discovered my car did NOT have the tach board attached to the back, as you see from the pic 2.
I was unsure how to remove the 3 contact points in order to install a new printed circuit board under them.
The tach worked (not sure of accuracy) apparently with out the board.
What is the purpose of board? I assume I need one???

Without this forum and especially the videos from Willcox I would be lost.
The tach board is attached to the rear of the tach and the studs extend front to rear through the contact clips shown in the pic. Those clips can be removed by pinching them together.
It depends who made the board, some replacements have an adjustment pot.
Mine is factory original.
The rear I ask is that I have an 78 L82 with 3:55 gears and the tach shows 3500 RPMs at 70 MPH. The thread indicated that that would be the RPM's for 3:73 or my tach is registering wrong.
