i have a 79 vette which was purchased by my dad in 86 i have seen 73 to 79 corvettes with the 80 style front clip(which i think makes the car look more muscular) and was wondering how to do this and what parts i need and from where to get them. I was also considering purchasing a 73-75 convertible and doing the same and also the rear clip which wud look so dope cause it would look like a special edition.
I think you can get bolt-on spoiler kits for that - see the various catalogs.
Of course, the motivated individual could swap the front clips of two vettes -
but it's not for the faint of heart. It's a lot of work, too.
:seeya
For the front you will need the bumper, 1/2 front fenders, a t-bolt kit, and maybe more. For the rear, you just need the bumper and t-bolts. Call them up and ask them for details.
thats really odd. i thought the 73-79 style front end looked more "Shark" which i thought made it look more muscular... but thats all opinion.
all you would need is the front bumper from an 80. id say buy a truflex or fiberglass one to save time in the future. you have to slice your front fenders to mount the 80s style and the rear is bolt on. i have the rear on mine, but i like the front the way it is.
check out some pics of 79s vs. 80s make sure you follow the bumper lines. youll see what you have to do. Gkull has done this conversion, you may want to talk to him.
