I just ordered the impala kit as well, figured it's time to do it and the borgeson swap while the engine is out

thanks for taking the plunge for us all sunflower!

dang those cross-shafts are beefy... well I wont have any hesitations about slotting them for castor gains... those things look like an inch thick...

did you have to replace the bushings? or did they come with Delrin?
I don't think you'll need to slot them for additional caster. I only slotted one hole so I could mount the arm to the frame studs. The C3 frame mounting studs are about 3/16's narrower than the 58-64 Impala frame mounting studs. They look to me like they'll provide 4* of positive caster as is. I have my own caster/camber gauge so after I check I'll post the numbers. The arms came complete with the shaft, bushings and ball joint installed.

Yeah im going to shoot for 6* positive, i have the C/C gauge from Longacre and some aluminum tubing i bought just for doing this cuz alignment shops around here are idiots

the add for them said 4* built in, im wanting to cruise around 150 in this thing and feel solid, so more is better, and if i dont like it im going to try swapping over to a set of c5 spindles that i have lying around, just to see what they do on camber plots

Great info guys.
Now to see it there is a combination that will work with some coil-overs.
I have a full set of Van Steels and QA1 coilovers.
Maybe I'll get a set of these to match up with and see what mods.add-ons are needed.
I'll post pics as I get the pieces together.
Great project...thanks to OP!

very much so

im wondering if machining a 3/8 thick plate of steel to fit down in the spring pocket, weld it in place, would work for coilovers, at least that's what im going to try
we always had issues with our s10 autocross truck bowing the plates on QA-1 coilover designed lowers... but they were rather poorly designed imo… laaaarge service area with no gauseting to counter the coilover thrust

I bought my set from the same seller Sunflower, im still not sure if it's all 4 upper and lowers, or just one side... they say set, not pair... but who knows, total weight was 48lbs, which sounds right for all 4, but it seems really cheap for all 4... I guess i'll know when it shows up

Then this setup would make life easy:

Just read the Jeg's lowers description.
Delalum bushings and GET THIS.......spring pocket matches up to aftermarket coil-overs!

Also sent message/inquiry to the bottom link for performanceonline to see if they fit 68-82 Vettes also.

Will post follow up....

Problem is if you buy the Jeg's uppers for $89, you still need to find lowers for* $200/pair to actaully save on the 4pc set deals already listed.

Ask me how I know now?????

LOL

Time to find a pair of lowers on sale from some guy who had a pair gathering dust.*

Still....old school hotrodding.....I love it!

True! If we don't try we wont know if it works. I would try the lowers but customs and shipping make it too expensive for me to have them lying around if they don't fit. I'm saving for efi at the moment!

Anybody have a photo of what grinding it is that has to be modified to make them fit? Might be worth it at these prices.

These lower control arms are on sale also. Will these fit the C3 corvette?
