Default Piston Oil ring Shallow vs Deep question

My rebuild is ready to go back together but now I noticed I bought shallow oil ring set (0.165) instead of regular (0.200). I measured the piston oil groove depth and it is around 0.200.

My question is can I still use shallow in a deep groove without any issues? THX

Also they charge an extra $23 just for the shallow vs the deep when everything else is just the same. BS

I had never heard of shallow oil rings for Chevrolet small blocks until you mentioned it. So I Googled "Shallow Oil Rings For Chevrolet Small Blocks" and it's saying they're for the later generation of small blocks like the mid 1990's and later. And it's also saying they aren't compatible for the early small blocks. Different pistons perhaps?

I think you got a metric ring set for Gen 6 engines. I have one Gen 6 piston and the oil ring expander was too tall would not fit in.
