Hello,
My power steering makes whining noises and is difficult to turn, when i turn the wheel while at a stop, so I am planning on replacing my power steering pump this weekend.
There is no way the issue could be coming from a bad PS cylinder or valve assembly, could it?
I thought it would be a good idea to replace all the hoses at the same time, with the pump being so cheap.
I see sets on Amazon marketed for 1980-82 corvettes, and from the picture they look to be exactly the same.
I'd rather order through them because of the free shipping that comes a bit faster, and the kit is a bit cheaper.
Can someone please tell me if they are exactly the same, and if not, describe the difference?
Go to Amazon and enter "Edelman 80118 power steering pressure hose" . Scroll down to "frequently bought together" for both hoses. Hope this helps. Says it is a fit for 1972 Corvette.
Always ask the vendor what country of origin on the parts regardless of who you order from, via an email or phone call. Some of the cheapo's leak at the fitting coupler.

If the power steering pump is filled to the correct level and the belt is tight it should run quiet. But if it has been run too low on oil and the vanes and vane ring got damaged it will make noise. So check the oil level and belt tightness first before ordering any new parts.
