Great job!
I hope to do this project very soon. I actually bought the paint a couple a months ago, but never got around to it. Thanks

I used a stiff wire brush to remove most of the rust, which came off quite easily. I then used some brake cleaner to remove any grease/fluid/dust. Masking the caliper pistons and rubber boots was a PITA. I hung the calipers with wire and sprayed a few light coats.
For the rotors, I wanted to protect the hat and the edges/vanes. I used electrical tape to follow the circle scrubbed by the pad. It was easy, and doesn't have to be perfect, as the pad will clean off any slight overspray after. The VHT paint adheres well, has a hard finish and dries quickly. My only afterthought was to use a color that matched the original, like a cast iron grey or something.
You could do all four wheels in a weekend. Have to let the paint fully dry overnight.

a set that has seen some use? I'm not real worried about the rotor, but I
would like to do my calipers in red and would hope they stay as nice as some
of the newer vehicles I see on the road...

I'm doing my old calipers too
I first sandblasted them really thorough w/ alu-ox so that all rust is gone (the alu-ox actually embeds and prevents rust)

Then I spraypainted them w/ POR15, going to finish off w/ eiither silver, black or red.
