need help finding a part
its a 1976 first, what is that plate called that sits in the console at the top of the hole. The a/c controls sit down in it and so does the ashtray. i need that part, i have looked in every parts calaloge i have and 5 vette parts websites. can you help?

In the console under the trim plate. under the A/C controls, and ashtray, there is a metal plate/ thin metal ring kind of plate. It fits into the hole in the console, and the a/c controls attach to it. I have looked in catalogs, and websites, but cant find the part, or even anyone that knows what i am talking about, ecklers told me that there was no plate/ring that goes there,,i didnt feel like arguing so i said ok.

2002 Zip catalog, page 198, they have a part called a trim plate reinforcement. It goes under the climate controls and the ashtray. On non-AC cars, the fresh air vent control levers mount to it. Part #U-261. Hope this helps.

If you have corvette central catalog look at page 33 at shift console repair kit (233002) and reinforcement piece(233010). These might be what you need. The part nos are in () if you need to look on line they may help.

the part i need is in this pic "reinforcement". sorry ORvette, it looks like you were right,,,its just ecklers catalog there are 2 reinforcement plates and neither one of them are it, and those are the plates i thought u were talking about.
