Hi everyone i have a 82 corvette with a cfi which im having alot of issues with but i have a spare carb type 327 which i was planning to rebuild next year to a mild bulit would the swap be better and what exactly would i have to do i know for the transmisson i would need a lock up kit will all the sensors and wires and gauges still work i know i would need a fuel regulator with a return line anything else
First, make sure that you don't have to pass any type of state inspection. Your Check Engine light will either be permanently on or never come on, both of which will fail you in most places. Also be hard to get your emissions down to the same level with a carb.
Second, I know that the Crosfire had higher fuel pressure so if you go ahead with the conversion, you'll need a fuel pressure regulator and gauge.
after all this time trying to get this right are you giving up?okay I under stand.i would get a new carb and intake from edelbrock.i would get the disributer from speedway.Or you could spend more money and get sniper fuel injection from holly.what ever you do buy new parts .the fight with all this old stuff has to be getting old .do it right one time and drive the car.
Ca-legal hawaii had less strict for the emissions and saftey checks
Derek no doubt when car runs good its amazing but finding myself trying to figure out whats broken almost eveyweek
Terry yeah im having problems again ive been getting a code 42 i bought the ecm about a year ago just changed the plugs wires cap and rotor and the igination module about a week ago car stayed up good a ran great but yesderday went to start car would even idle when reving would straight sputter and my tach gauge would not work when sputters someone said to change my coil ao will try that sometime this week also was thinking of running a performer intake maybe with a double pumper holley still up in the air or would a efi setup carb type be bettwr
the performer intake should work.would not run the double pumper.it might be to much.i would look into summits injection or the holly sniper.speedway has distributer[$70.00 that will plug right in. the aftermarket injection will give you better performance and I think keep your resale because its still fuel injected just better.$12-$1400 you can have a great dependable car.
Yeah looking to get a little more hp also but for thw conversion itself i should just need the lockup kit fuel regulator with return and my orginial sensor should all work right
