I can't seem to find anywhere (including my 1981 Owners Manual, Shop manual, or Jim Shea's pages) that tells me how the ignition buzzer warning switch actually works. I've just put a new ignition lock in my '81 and now my buzzer goes off with the key in ACCY, LOCK, & OFF.
The only position it doesn't buzz is RUN (& probably START). My door switch is working because it stops buzzing with my door closed.
My question is, is this normal? How it's supposed to be? The problem being, I can't listen to the radio with the door open (It's hot in Brisbane, windows down when you're parked up just doesn't cut it). It seems a bit silly if it's designed this way. I'd have thought it was only meant to buzz with the key in LOCK position.
Sort of hoping this is how it's meant to be to save myself tearing down the steering column again and checking gaps on the switch contacts. If this is the case, I'll have to exercise Jimmy's trick and remove the 'E or F' wire from the harmonica / connector.
I got it sorted by pulling the pink. I wrote a big explanation here but the forum somehow logged me out and it got wiped. Annoying. Not about to retype but in short: Found it's supposed to buzz in LOCK, OFF, & ACCY. Again, annoying.

Yes! You are correct, with the key in the lock cylinder and the door open the buzzer will sound in Accessory-Off Lock-and the Off position.
