Hey everybody. Finally bought my first corvette. Hopefully not my last. I've come close a lot of times. I've been restoring a 67 mustang shelby clone for the last three or four years. Its a cool looking car which gets a lot of attention, but the vette has given me the fever. I bought a 77 yellow coupe mostly stock. Decent shape but I have a lot of plans for her. I paid 6200 which is good for this area. Most around here in that range are beaters that don't even run. Mine has a nice interior with a fair paint and a good running engine, although stock. As it sits now the stang would tear it up so I have to do something about that. Anyway, glad to be here and will be asking alot of questions. First one is on the dynomax headers I see alot of you are using and seem happy with. I can order them through Oreilly for $299 and get them in two days. I know alot of you say you got them from Jegs for $219. My question is what is shipping costs and waiting time. It might be more convenient for me to order through Oreilly for a few extra dollars. Thanks in advance for any advice. Glad to be here.

Thanks. I got one maybe you can answer. My car had L82 badges on it. I saw somewhere that the fifth digit in the VIN on a 77 was L for L48. Is this true? My fifth digit is an L.

you are correct sir. you are the proud owner of a 1977 L-48. the fifth character for the L-48 is an L, and the L-82 is an X. :yesnod:
but you can always lie to your buddies. they'll never know ;)

Its cool. If I cared I would have researched it before I bought. Hell, I did not even ask the lady if it was an L82 or not.

Cool thing about O'reilly's is that if you have a problem just bring it back no questions asked. With Summit or Jegs you have to eat the shipping and that can be epsensive for heavy parts. :yesnod:

Welcome. Summit shipped my headers and took 4 days to receive them. I can't remember where the shipped out of, but I'm at 45* North latitude so your bound to be closer

WUZZZ UP mp77? Welcome to another 77!! :D Jegs took 4 days to deliver my headers, along with a ton of other stuff. Lots of great people here to make that 77 go fast. Don't hesitate to ask. Good luck :D :D :D
