Default 1970 lt1

Can an engine identification expert help me with an engine stamp. I've have owned several LT-1 Corvette's but this is supposed to be an original 70 LT-1 Camaro I'm looking to purchase. The picture is all I have. The date and engine code are correct, but I don't recognize the broach lines and there is no VIN stamp. I have a 71 LT-1 Corvette and it has traces of the broach lines and the matching VIN. My judgement is it's not original, but wanted to check with those more experienced than I.

how can it be original with no partial VIN? Does the current owner have an explanation?

I saved the pic and enlarged it in Photo Viewer. I do not see any evidence of broach marks or a VIN derivative.

This is sort of interesting. I wonder if it's an over the counter engine and not a warranty exchange. My block is the same way, except the date and suffix stamp is on the other side of the pad.
But I know mine's not the original motor. If I had to guess, I wouldn't think the one you're inquiring about is either.
Another funny thing is mine has a 6/23/70 assembly date the same as the one you pictured.

A quick google search for "camaro 70 LT1 vin stamp' brought up some info that the vin could be stamped either on the front pad or near the oil filter - it looked to be dependent on where the camaro was built?

My CTB code car was a 4 speed. CTC would be correct for an auto. IIRC mine had no vin on the engine pad. Check the oil filter pad?
Some things did seem to change by assembly plant.
Mine had a 28 on the cowl tag, but no Z28. Early build? was what I heard.
28.19 with the 19 meaning RS
