You can buy the correct rosette pop rivets on ebay from quite a few vendors but they go anywhere from ten bucks each and up. Just input "rosette rivets". That's the way I would go.

Wow. This seems to have touched a nerve with you. I asked what happened to it. Was not sure if he intended to reattach, get a state issue vin, section the old pillar with the rivets still intact and reweld to the new new pillar.

There were plenty of responses to my question that did not require the sarcastic answer from you.

Thanks for contributing to the thread though. Really useful info. (See? Sarcasm.....fun for everyone.)

To the OP, progress look great. Keep the pics coming!

Order the correct rivets and put them in.
The average law enforcement officer may not even notice if the correct rivets were used, unless he/she was/is assigned to a special stolen vehicle detail and received special training.
Basically, as long as the VIN plate is correctly attached at the proper location, the VIN matches the registration card and license plate and all this is verified through CLETS, you'll never get questioned.
If they look any closer and the engine and trans are numbers matching, you'll be on your way.
A rookie may scratch his head a little when he/she sees a VIN under 17 digits for the first time, but they won't even question it, if it matches the registration card.
