Default Lowering rear by removing leaf spring plates?

Has anyone had experience lowering the rear end by removing some of the rear leaf spring plates? I'm not speaking of the leaf springs, just the non-bending plates that hold the leaf spring bar- under the 4 bolts and plate. I have a composite leaf spring (mono spring). Can I remove some of those plates to lower it safely?

Thanks

I believe you can just move the plates, reposition them below the spring, that is, between the spring and the plate that bolts everything together. That way, you don't have to worry about getting different sized bolts.

The only issue that I see-

The fiberglass spring getting too close to the exhaust.
There are heat shields out there-so do look at adding those if you go that route.

I used longer bolts for a C4.

Thanks guys. Good info so far. Richard454, I have the C4 bolts already but haven't installed them yet. I'm wondering if I will need to go even lower. Thus this question. How much drop in inches did you get from the bolts? (Inches)

You can just go to a bolt shop and buy any bolt length and diameter you want in 1/2 inch increments. Kinda dumb buying c4 bolts when you have a world of grade 8 choices out there
