Default Q: Bilstein Xtreme/Autocross shocks...

Has anyone used the Bilstein "Xtreme"/Autocross shocks (VBP/Ecklers nomenclature) with a composite spring before? If so what are your thoughts about these particular shocks?

Thanks,
John

I was in a vette a month ago with this setup. Very good handling but much harsher ride than stock. He even said that if he did not use his vette primarilly for autocrossing he would change the setup to something less stiff. Made my setup feel like a Cadilac in comparison.

I have them on the rear with a composite mono spring and standard Bilsteins on the front. Handling is great but it is a very harsh ride. On the advise of VB, I installed them to help control wheel hop at the drag strip. They helped but I had to install a traction bar to totally eliminate wheel hop. I am thinking about replacing the the Xtremes to improve my ride. My kidneys can't take it any longer.

Thanks for the input. The info you provided, matches what VBP was telling me. I just want to make sure that I have "enough" shock for the composite spring (Dual Mount adjustable). The vette will be primarily a cruisin around vehicle, but will see several autocross and drag strip events each year.

I will go with the Bilstein Sports (VBP recommendation) first and see what happens.

Thanks again for the input,
John

I think that you will be much happier with the Sports, or take a look at the Koni's.
