1975 L-48 auto swapped in a Dart SBC stroked to 407. Using factory rejetted Qjet and log exhaust manifolds, factory HEI.
Completed the swap, replaced all grounds and wires as before, electrical totally dead. I suspected the block to frame ground wire, cleaned off the new paint in these areas, reconnected battery and I heard the buzzer from the ignition key as the door was open.
Removed key from ignition to complete battery connections, put key back in, nothing. No door ajar buzzer, no electrical whatsoever.
Battery fully charged.
The only change I made to the wiring was to splice in a new electric choke to the yellow wire on the wiper motor.
I’ve got a good Fluke multi-meter and a 12v Power Probe, but no clue where to start and even less as to how use them.
Any (detailed) suggestions on likely causes or things to check?
Not really any fitment issues, the valve covers are higher to accomodate the roller rockers, this had some interference with the A/C, so I added a slightly longer belt and this fixed it.
Idles just like the stock L-48, but has a little more torque.
