Default Headlights on my 1969 convertible.

I came home at night last night (rarely drive the old girl at night). The leadlights popped up just fine and the 49 year old 4000 sealed beam lamps lit up. But for all practical purposes the old girl was blind. After Googling I can find all sorts of expensive LED projector style replacements, but they look funky. Is there a good choice for more light and a traditional look? Thanks.

yes depends on whether you want the fiber optics for the lights to work?
these work with the fiber optics https://willcoxcorvette.com/corvette...low-beam-58-82
https://willcoxcorvette.com/corvette...-hi-beam-58-82

Or you can look for H4000 and H5001 halogens

Is there a dual beam replacement light that would allow me to run all four lights on low beam?

The high beam buckets are different than the low beams. Our C3s have 4 different headlight buckets, A,B,C,D is how they are referred to. So if you change the high bucket to a low bucket then yes you can install a second low beam, but then you need to wire up for another low beam, and I think 4 low beams are illegal. I use halogen bulbs, same size as OEMs, almost 50% brighter and my fibre optics work. T

Thank you. I now see that there are four unique "bulb retaining cups" on the '69. New bulb retaining cups are about $15 each. Do I understand correctly that the low beam lamps are structurally different than the high beam ones? Therefore the low beam lamp would not fit the high beam retaining cup, right? A few years back I was riding my Harley in Florida with the "driving lights" on. A cop pulled me over and told me I couldn't have three headlights on. I think he just wanted to stop me and run me through the system. I guess states can have different rules.

must have matching bucket for low or high beam bulb.
if you just added 4 high beams you will overload the headlight lamp circuit.
If you add wiring kit to apply power thru relays directly to the battery,
they will be brighter, and can handle the current drain of 4 high beam lights.

That's a nice kit. Also look at Wagner 5001 high beam and 5006 low beam. These are halogen bulbs. The 01 is $8.97 an the 06 is $7.97. Pricing from Summit. T
