Default HELP hazard lights won't turn off!

Turned on the hazard light switch that's in the steering column and when I went to push it back in, it wouldn't go in, my lights won't stop flashing unless I disconnect the battery. Please help

Ben

Hi Ben. Please list the year of your car. On my 79, (I think) the outer ring of the hazard switch pulls out to turn them on, but you have to push on the center of the switch (not the outer ring) to turn them off. Not sure about the hazards on the earlier models - I think they might be a standard push-pull.

OK, then I can't help much - you'll probably need to tear into the column to replace the switch? However, you might be able to disable the hazards by pulling the flasher module. I think the one in the fuse-block should be the hazard flasher (the turn signal flasher is under the dash on the passenger side (if it's similar to my 69).
