Default Horn Woes...

Ok, last little bit and I can finally get inspection!

Is there a preliminary test to perform to confirm I need to take steering wheel off?

Horns don't sound(obviously)and there is no voltage at them....I even tried some new horns, why I don't know, was thinking they would magically solve the problem I guess(plus the old ones were all ugly and rusty).

....where do I begin.

Default Horn woes

Same dead horn problem here on my 77, Hope it is a loose wire as I too have limited desire to pull the wheel apart and have little pieces everywhere. Please post your fix .Thanks!

Ensure your horns have a good ground. There is a green wire that goes to the horn relay (drivers side fender well closer to back of motor) There is a black wire here beside the green one that goes to the horn button. You get ground from the horn button that picks up this relay hence the horn honks. Quick check would be to put positive battery on the green wire going to horns and see if they work. Also when you push the horn button do you hear the relay click (pickup)

If you have an aftermarket rag joint or one of the repair kits w/ new disc have been installed, that could be the culprit.

Most of those don't have the copper screen in the coupler needed to make the horn connection.
