Default More Bite For Old Sharks, Video Interpretation

275's fit with ample room after this mod. I highly reccomend it to those with performance engine mods or ones looking for a better handling C3!

The info can be found here: (Im sure you've seen it)
http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/MoreBite.pdf

Did this to a 74 Corvette with an LS1 / T56 Swap. It can Dig with the best of them. We went with a 275/60R/15 Tire but Im sure you could go 285 maybe even 290 with stock trailing arms with this 1 mod. It was very easy to do.

Heres a video demo on the 74 LS1.

Here is a golden opportunity for a vendor to make a bracket for moving the parking brake cable inward, without disconnecting the cable and can be either bolted on or tack welded for say: $15 a pair + shpg. (just cut the old one off and pitch it)

Would sell several I bet.

Just use the replacement ones $13/pair usd)

Exactly what did. Just bought the brackets from CC and moved mine to the top didn't take the cable off or anything.

Did the same when I put the new arms on last time

There are not any quality high performance tires made in 15 inch and the 275 60 is one of the worst. The tall flexible side wall and rubber compounds that makes the rubber hard after a few heat cycles

Quality tires? There's hardly ANY tires being made at 15" anymore (or so it seems)

I was thinking of putting 295/50 in the rear. That has less sidewall but will be a tighter fit on the rim. Any idea how the handling will be vs 255/60 and 275/60?

When you shorten the sidewall it will increase the steering response because the tire won't roll over as much. Will it be that big of a difference over the other sizes, not really. Tire compound has more to do with grip nowadays than the width of the tire. A 255 wide tire can perform the same as a 275 as far as grip goes. However, the 275 will stay cooler longer because of the heavy weight of our cars.

Unfortunately, manufacturers are not making any good performance tires in a 15" that fits on our cars. We have to step up to 17" or even 18" wheels to get good tires. I am currently running C5 style whees on my 76 with 255/40/17 on front and 275/40/18 on the rear using some 3" wide adapters.

Its amazing how much just a shorter sidewall changes the feel. I went from 215/65/15's on all 4's to C6 Take off 285/35/19 rear and 245/40/18 and it was like I put stiff performance shocks and stiffer springs on it. (on my S10)
