Need help identifying this little rubber boot!
We are restoring a 74 big block with Manual transmission. I found this little rubber boot on the ground under the right side front--I have no idea where it belongs! Does anyone happen to know?

On Harleys, there is a brake bleeder cover that looks something like that which keeps dirt/dust out of the bleeders. Just a thought.

All good guesses but all wrong. That part goes on the seat belt interlock relay located on the right side near the blower connection. This relay was used to reset the system in case you couldn't get the car started. It just pushes in the hole on the top of the relay to cover the pushrod.

For everyone else, I uploaded a pic of this part. It was a one year only so most folks don't know about it. Here's the pic

I have a 74 in my shop right now.. and that has to be correct! Although I've never seen the rubber button come loose from the relay, it sure looks like it has.

I've knocked it off a couple times working on the relay. My relay went bad and I couldn't find a replacement. I ended up going through the wiring diagram and figured out how to jumper the relay internally. Now I don't have to worry about getting stuck in the bank drive thru with a car that won't start. That was a fun day.
