I pulled up frame dimensions on web, there is a pic of frame with line drawn thru center from front to back, the line shows the crossmember in front to be offset, the front mount for differtial is offset.my question,,is the rear mount where differential bolts up also offset?1979 L82

The engine is offset to the right to provide a bit more leg/foot room for the driver but the rear differential is centered as both half shafts are equal length and interchangeable.

thanx Canada dude,I guess my frame is bent,it must have been hit in the rear section where the legs come up and back that the differential is bolted to,it is off by 1 inch,do you think this will affect driveability? No wonder I got the frame so cheap. However 1inch don't seem like much, but I don't know

1” is too much. I don’t recall the specs for how close is OK, but I know it isn’t an inch. Take the frame to a body shop with a frame machine. They can probably straighten it with no problem if the body is off.

If the frame is bent , you will not get the body mounts to line up. Been there, done that. Cheap and easy to get fixed now. Do it !
