So I have a 74 and put in a ridetech suspension with bear brakes. I'm now trying to figure out new rims and tires and I'm curious what other people have out on. Currently I'm looking at 245/40/19 on the front and 285/35/19 in the back. The only thing I'm having trouble figuring out is the backspace and offset. Any help would be great thanks.
I know on the rear Ridetech says you can run 5.5 inch backspace. I believe it is the same on the front with at least the bigger wheels like your 19’s. There are a couple guys on the forum that have been running 315’s on all four corners, and that is tucked under stock fenders, no flares. Search for Lars and Fleming’s names with Ridetech prefacing it. I am going to run the Ridetech rear on my 69 but am staying with 15 inch wheels. Going to measure before I decide how much I need to widen my wheels inboard to maximize the backspace I will be able to use.
You will have no trouble with 245 on the front with even minimal (4 inch) backspace, or on the rear with 285 at least 5.25 inch backspace. I would say since you haven’t bought anything yet, might as well measure and run the biggest you can. In fact it is always good to measure anyway, as it seems each car is a little different. Don’t worry so much about offset, as it is confusing since wheel width is measured differently than what is advertised. Measure for backspace. Good luck!

I'm kind of a wider tire person. But I have 9 & 10 inch wheels for the front with 4 inch bs. I used to have 4.5 BS fronts, but I would have tire rub on the frame with tires about 27 inches in dia. going lock to lock. I use 255, 275, and 295 fronts for track days.
For the rear I have 12 & 13 inch wheels with 2 inch adapters and 7 inch BS. My rear streets are 335
