Alternator ground on 68

Alternator ground on 68
I installed new letric limited wiring harness is my 68. There is a ring terminal for alternator ground. My alternator is internally regulated, so I purchased and installed the conversion kit from lectric as well. Where should I attach the ground wire from the harness to the alternator? My alternator only has a positive terminal on the back.

It has to hook to the frame or engine. The wire is the ground for the front lights. The alternator was a convenient place to put it by running it with the other wires and connecting it to the spare threaded hole in the back.

You should be fine. I have a new internal regulated 100 amp alternator and there was a ground screw right on the top. I just screwed the ground terminal from my new LL harness to it and it works fine. Mines a 68 also

I'll wager that you have a threaded hole on your alternator for the ground, you're just not seeing it. On my Powermaster alt. it is at six o'clock as shown in the picture below. I used a stud since a bolt was hard to get in that tight spot. And it was metric thread, M8 x 1.25.
