Is this engine corvettable?
Since I'm corvetteless for the next couple of years (no $$, wife in nursing school), I'm looking at stuff to put in the hypothetical 69 coupe I will someday own and I came across this 750hp LS7:
Mercury Racing SB4
Its essentially a 427. The particulars:
Thanks,
Simon

Why wouldn't you buy an LT4 for half that price and sacrifice 100 hp? I read that article, and unless I'm crazy, that's a lot of dough for the hp. I know you didn't opinions, but just thought the price was crazy.

Hmmm- I could make it fit.....
BUT if I were going to that much trouble- I'd spend a little more and go with this-
LS V12
These NA can see 1000HP.... AND look cool!!!

Might as well do a 12 cylinder for close to the same price!

As to budget I can afford anything as long as I am window shopping. Until my wife gets her BA in nursing, and more importantly a job I won't have any sort of budget.
I really want a driver car, almost certainly a 69 coupe with side pipes. At some point I'd like to do a body off restoration, but that may be a few years while I save up. I'm just dreaming and looking at possibilities in the mean time. I like the look of of the big block hood, but I don't really want one of the hi rise L-88 hoods. Beyond that, I have a terrible lead foot, so more HP is good (or bad depending ).
The V-12 is tempting with my imaginary budget, but I'm not sure how it would handle. Curves are good too.
Regards,
Simon
