Default ZZ4 Plug Removal Issue

Can't get a standard socket on the plugs toward the front of the car due to header pipe too close. Tried a socket with a built in swivel but it still won't clear. Is there a trick I can't figure out or a different shorter socket available?

Take an old box end wrench and shorten it ... That will allow you to reach in from under the alternator to loosen it .

I had a trick collapsible one I use to use, but can't find who made it. The old lt1 Camaro (93-97) use to need one. So if you search f-body sites you can find short sockets.

I actually have a set of custom made tools I use for changing my plugs. One is a socket I cut down to clear the header. Another is a box end wrench I cut and welded at a weird angle to get on another one. In my maintenance log, I recorded exactly what wrench works where, since I don't do the plugs often enough to always remember.

I use an offset box end wrench to remove the spark plugs that are hidden by the header primary tubes.
