73 Big Block Water Pump?

I'm looking at water pumps and plan to go with a good mechanical and want to use all my stock brackets and pulleys.
I'll be using dual spal electric fans on a Dewitts radiator.
Do I gain anything going to a high volume pump?
I see several different shaft sizes offered.
Do I need a long or short style?
I assume aluminum is the way to go?

Dual spals on a dewitts rad should cool everything, personally I went with a "regular" edelbrock aluminum pump (not hi volume or anything)
Oh, and a Corvette short pump may or may not be different length than a regular gm short pump.... depending on who you talk to. I had to add a little over .120" to a regular length pump to match my original pump and get the pulleys to align.

(or at least I think I agree, all C3 BB vette = short pumps are supposed to be 5 3/4" with a 3/4" pilot)And with the SB it wasn't much of a difference, 1/8" or something after 70?
I think the confusion / problem arises because you can press the flange onto the shaft to different placed (as it was in my BB pump)

From Edelbrock cataloge
1969-70 350 Corvettes. Short Pilot = 5/8" Block to Flange = 5-5/8"
1971-82 S/B Corvettes. Short Pilot = 3/4" Block to Flange = 5-13/16"
1969-70 B/B Corvettes Short Pilot = 5/8" Block to Flange = 5-3/4"
1971-74 B/B Corvettes. Short Pilot = 3/4" Block to Flange = 5-3/4"
