temp gauge bad?
I just replaced the temperature sender not long ago and that seemed fix the reading but the needle seemed to read a little on the low side. Now driving it the hotter weather we've had the needle starts bouncing from top to bottom and then stays in a crazy spot and repeats. Must be the gauge that has gone out now heh?

Testing the temperature gauge.
With the key in the ON position:
Remove the wire at the sender and the gauge should read COLD.
Next, ground the same wire and the gauge should go past HOT.
Remove the wire at the sender and the gauge should read COLD.
