Can you run a long water pump?
Just wondering since I need to get a power steering pump and I see brakcets and pulley set ups for long pumps are much cheaper than short. I have no fan or shroud to worry about but will the crank pulley clear the cross member.

I think you are ok since you don't have the shroud or belt driven fan. Just change out the water pump( or you could space out your existing pump) and use the long pump bracket pulley set.

I was told the crank pulley is the real problem in this setup. I'd have loved to use my ZZ4 without replacing the waterpump, and to use a serpentine system from a late model pickup.

I'm using a long pump on mine.
I'm pretty sure P/S bracket, pump pulley, crank pulley, alt bracket are specific to each arrangement. Don't know about smog or a/c.. I don't have either.
