Has anybody ever cruised to town or around the block and had a 7 or 8 year old kid run beside you and shout look mommy there's a corvette. Nothing puts a big smile on my face like that does because you know some day he'll be in the forum.
This actually happened to me last weekend. was driving the car deep into the back roads of the towns along the N.shore when we cam into a little neighborhood snuggled between high mountains, an two lane road and the mighty Pacific. I was trying to turn around after exploring to a dead end when i suddently heard this shout,"wow, look at that." We had driven past the backyard of some young kid who was playing out in his yard while his (attractive) blond mother hung laundry. You would've though he saw the damn stealth bomber or something (it's a black on black 77)! He stopped and dropped everything as we cruised by. Mom looked at the car and realizing her sons amazed meant said something to the affect of,Thats neat huh." The coolest thing about that moment is the fact that i was out cruising/exploring, we sort of got into an area were i did'nt know were we were( not lost, U cant be lost on oahu) and this "shark sighting" will live on in this kids head for ever untill he too is a "vette junky". These cars just have some kind of warm charm to them( as well as sexy looks) that captivates all ages!
Yes, and it's such a cool feeling. We moved into our current neighborhood a few years ago, but all the kids still run beside me, wave, and shout (nice things) when I drive by.
How about passing by a car wash fund raiser. Happened a couple of weeks ago, little dude said "hey, we can wash that car". The look on his face I will never forget.
They have a game in the car -
first one to see a vette slaps his brother and says -
"Slap vette BLACK , no slap back !"
(insert appropriate color)
OK - I admit it - the wife and I do it too.
