When I built my 383 stroker I replaced the cast iron oem intake, heads, and water pump with aluminum pieces also replaced the cast exhaust manifolds with long tube headers.
While doing this I weighed each of the old components and new. The total weight differential was almost 100 lbs. I was amazed.
I also replaced the stock rear leaf spring with a VB&P composite. Did not weigh those pieces but would guess old multi leaf steel spring around 70 lbs. Composite spring 3 lbs.
Nice weight savings on the front end with aluminum heads and intake. The savings at the rear when going to a composite spring is between 30 and 35 lbs.

Add to the mix Alum trailing arms hub and brake caliper brackets,
alum half shafts, hollow light weight axles, c6 wheels and wilwood calipers. Bat wing And more.

Years ago I was told that reducing a (performance) car's weight by 100 pounds is equal to increasing the power by 10 h.p./it's technically freeing up the horsepower the engine already has.
100- 200-300 pounds in weight reduction really pays off.
That's a pretty good deal when going with lightweight performance parts/an extra bonus.

I vaguely recall that every 100 lbs saved in weight cuts .1 seconds off quarter mile time, but don't quote me on that.

Let us know what the car weight ends up at. I always enjoy weight reduction threads.
