Default gas tank mountiing

Putting the tank back in - quite a one man job. Not certain if it's sitting properly on the mounting points. Pictures below try to capture it. Any comments, good, bad, or indifferent are appreciated.

rear of the tank (rear of car) on frame cross member. Is this all the support for the back of the tank (this point and the one on the on the other side - not shown)?
rear of tank again - note the strap bolt not yet bolted in. Is the tank not supposed to rest on the angled section of the cross member - just on the small point on the corner in the first photo?
Front of tank (front of car) on tank support bar. Is it supposed to sit only on the raised part of the bar, not the bottom flane? Ignore the tape. It's there just to hold the anti-squeak strip in place. Yeah, I know, I should have taken photos. I usually do but thought this one would be straight forward - just six nuts crank on.

No rush, I'll be travelling for a couple weeks.

Not sure is it's the same but here's some photos of the installed tank in my '77 if it helps.

revitup, teamo,

Thank-you for the replies and revitup for the many photos. It's still hard to tell as the the '80 tank is much larger. One issue is the 80 manual shows and an antisqueak pad lying across the bevel of the rear cross member as shown in this schematic from the 1980 shop manual.

But the tank is currently contacting the cross member well above that surface and only at the end points. But then, the schematic could be wrong. I've seen others that were out of date. Also, on my 80 there was a large yellow foam pad lying under the straps on top of the tank.

Here is is lying on the rear deck. The schematic doesn't show it even though it shows other antisqueak pads. As it is at a minimum I have to lower the tank partially again as that pad did not stay in place and so far I've been unable to push it back into place.

Default What now

Ok, dropped the tank since the rubber strip was not in the right position. Taped it into the right position. ran the straps over the rubber strip as it appears from the indents that the strips ran over them originally - when I took the tank down it just dropped out and wasn't obvious as to where it had been. Tried to reinstall the tank. Now with the back of the tank resting in its proper position on the rear frame cross member I cannot get the front of the tank raised enough to get the front support bar under it and up to the frame bolts.

Question, has anyone installed a 1980-82 tank that has this big foam pad? If so where precisely does it go - fully on the top of the tank or on the rounded edge between the back and front? And do the straps go over it or under - I suspect under.

Thanks,
