Key minder cancel tab - for column gurus!
I just rebuilt my '69 column and I'm having trouble with the key minder switch. I know most people try to disable this feature if anything, but I want everything work as new, so...
My problem is that the key minder never cancels. In these columns, when you insert a key, a little black tab pops out of the bottom of the lock barrel that activates the key minder switch.
I have that and it works. My problem is when you remove the key, it doesn't retract, so the switch and buzzer stay active.
I'm using a new lock cylinder which I guess could be defective, but I don't have a good one to compare to. Does the little black tab that pops out of the cylinder (to activate the key minder switch) normally retract when the key is removed?
