Default rear ends

I am looking to change the rear gear ratio in my 82 what would be the best way to go? what years are interchangable? What ratio would work best? :cheers:

I don't know which years you can interchange, but I do know that in order to anwer your question, members are going to need to know what your present ratio is and whether you want gearing for acceleration/lower top end or taller gearing to give you more mph at lower rmp. AND possible how much hp your going to be launching with.:yesnod:

I belive it is a 2.73 and I am looking for accleration from the start. HP/ tq do not Know yet, But Here is a list of my goodies I am installing:
Alm Edelbrock heads 2.02
comp 262h cam
mallory ignition
hooker 1 5/8 headers
650 cfm holley dp man sec
1.6 roller rockers
edelbrock performer intake

they are at LEAST 2.73.. I think I read that 2.87s went into the 82s, but I can't find my reference
