Oh Boy what a rush!! With the new cam/head kit in and properly broken in, I went for a drive up US 281 in San Antonio. A father/son pull up next to me and wave for me to "goose it". Went into 3rd at about 65 and hit it hard.....woah!!! This new setup has some kahonies! Instantly pulled hard and about a second into it (I guess the secondaries opened up?) it felt like I had roped a Boeing 747!! I actually felt the car "twist" as I shifted into fourth. Got out of it at about 95-100 or so, SCARY. I've never done that with the '72 before....and probably never again on the highway.
Everyone's advice on the TFS heads and CC 270H Magnum cam were right on the money. This combo drives great, sounds great, and still pulls 14+ inches of vacuum. Just sharing this to say Thanks to all the Forum members who advised me on my purchase.
wow  Sounds awesome, Im going with a bit milder cam..268H, but will have the same setup. Does it feel as fast as the Z06?? :) If u ever get to the strip or dyno. Let us know.
Good to hear that your 72 is rocking like a vette should...Mine is still a while out from hitting the road but I am using the TFS heads and a comp 268H cam in a 388cu. I often wondered if I should of stepped up a little more on the cam. I am running a built 700R4 with a 1800 stall and 3.55 gears in the rear. It should be a great set up on the street too though.
Nothing like the sound of a corvette cruising down the road..Soon, very soon

I would go bigger with the stroker and 3.55 gear. You will have TONS of torque out of the hole but probably peeter out about 5,000 rpm's. Of course you will be doing some hellacious burns out with that set-up. :yesnod:
