Any reason why I can't switch to a 4.625 diameter pulley from a 5.75 for my saginaw style power steering pump (with borgerson power steering gear)? I know it will increase the load on the pump some but can't think of any reasons not to.
Thank you

As handsome as that unit is, I vote no on proper fit. A lot of this dress-up stuff fits every Chevy in the western hemispere except C3s.
Do you have a key way, press-on or threaded shaft on your pump?
This pulley will certainly be considered overdrive. But I question the over-all thickness. Looks like the front hub sticks out farther than stock. This would force the pulley rearward when installed, maybe to the point where the back of pulley would contact the front of the pump and rub.

I went through this years ago but with a waterpump dress-up pulley. Tried three or four different units. Either the WP shaft didn't fit, the bolt holes didn't line up or the belt groove didn't line up. So, I gave up and kept things stock.
